Dear Magill Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I am Dr. Guerlène Merisme, and I have had the honor of serving as the principal at J.C. Magill Elementary School since March 2022. Whether you are returning to our school community or joining the Magill Family for the first time, we are excited to welcome you to a year filled with growth, discovery, and excellence. Our staff has been working diligently throughout the summer to prepare an exceptional learning experience for every student, and we cannot wait to welcome our Comets back on Wednesday, August 5, 2026!

Our theme for this school year is "Level Up Our Learning." This theme reflects our commitment to helping every student grow academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally. At Magill Elementary, we believe every child has limitless potential. Our mission is to provide exceptional learning experiences that challenge, support, and inspire students to reach new heights. Together, we will create a positive school culture where hard work is celebrated, relationships are valued, and every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Type in "Magill" (or any school in the state of Georgia) and see our data from 2018-2025. Spoiler Alert: We are performing better than we were before the pandemic. Last year, our school was designated as a Literacy Leader by the Georgia Department of Education for the growth displayed on the Georgia Milestones Assessment System. See the list of schools here.
